![]() The few games that don't work usually eventually do, and till then I just play them off the original DVD. I keep thinking about doing it but the ps2 + hdadvance works fine for my limited needs. Probably need somebody else to install it unless you are a whiz with a soldering iron but it supposedly works well. I can't imagine that working all that well, if I was going to mod my ps2 I would just go for a full on mod chip like dms. Chip Flashing Methods There are two different methods for flashing your mod-chip: 1) by CD-R or 2) by memory card. I would stay away from the swap trick crap. TOXIC OS Is the low-level software to activate the DMS4 Pro or DMS4 SE Pro mod-chips that incorporates ALL the functions of TOXIC BIOS and includes a hard drive browser for accessing PSX/PS2 games from the hard drive instead of CD/DVD-R disk. Course that procedure is supposedly only slightly less hard to install than a regular modchip. (I think you can do it using a USB HDD.) Actually you can mod them to use the HD just like the regular ps2, nothing to do with the usb. Not an option with a slimline PSTwo.Well you can, but it requires more hackery. Otherwise I'd 1) get a modchip or 2) get one but open the PSTwo and permanently install those parts with some glue. BTW the instructions for them *suck*! I had to go I bet the are supposed to do the same job though.)Basically it works if you only use a very small amount of imports. There is also HDLGameInstaller which will install games through network or from disk. And usually when you open the lid it pops out. It's usually a bit of work to even get the lid sensor (puched down into the machine) to hit right. They have one statement in particular on their site:Lid can be opened and closed with the parts installed. I have a similar one to play my imports on a Eu PSTwo.
